I have been influenced a great deal by traditional methods of construction, and I tend to avoid the use of quick-fix modern adhesives. In the past I have experimented with many finishes and tried a number of different varnishes and polishes. I have come to prefer resin oils in a slow build-up of protection that my customers can continue in caring for the piece.
In my designs, I have made a point of producing furniture that can be dismantled, both for storage and ease of transport. This speciality has had a strong influence on the resulting style of those designs. |
